8u Registration --- 60-PLAYER CAP

8u Registration is open only to the 2010 & 2011 birth years.

SYHA anticipates this year's 8u registration will reach the 60-PLAYER CAP - register early to avoid being closed out of the 8u program.

All players with a birth year of 2012 and later must register for Mini-Mites or Introduction to Hockey (registrations to be open at a later date).  


Skating Lessons

Skating Lesson sessions are offered year round, and are appropriate for ages 4 thru adult, beginner to advanced skaters.  Each session costs $99 per skater and consists of 7 weekly classes comprised of a 30 minute small group lesson and 30 minutes of independent practice time.  Semi-private advanced lessons are offered March thru October.  See below for information regarding registration.

  • Spring II Session - Lessons on Monday nights only.  April 30 - June 18, 6-7pm. There will be no class on Memorial Day, 5/28.  Registration hass closed. 
  • Summer Session will run July 9 - Aug 20th, Monday nights, 6-7pm.  Online registration is NOW OPEN! Click here to register.   Limited openings in hockey skating skills  lesson group (hockey stops, backward crossovers, inside and outside edges) and introduction to figure skating lesson group.  PLEASE NOTE:  Both of these lesson groups have strict pre-requisite skills.
  • September Session will run Sept 10 - Oct 22, Monday nights 6-7pm.  Online registration will be open approximately one month before each program begins.

Summer 3v3 Challenge 2018

This program runs from Monday, July 9 thru Monday August 20 and is meant to be a fun opportunity for kids to play like kids - no skills, or drills, just 3 on 3 games.  Full gear and USA Hockey registration is required.  Goalies will be used for Squirt and PeeWee divisions only and do not skate out.

     Mini-Mites (2012-2013) and Mites (2010-2011) skate from 7:10-8:10

     Squirts (2008-2009) and PeeWees (2006-2007) skate from 8:10-9:10

Cost thru May 31st is $75.00 for skaters and includes a jersey.  Cost for goalies  thru May 31st is $30, plus $15 if optional jersey is desired. 

Prices increase to $90 (skater) and $45 (goalie) on June 1st.  Open registration will continue thru June 1st, or until a division reaches capacity.  After June 1st you may still register (click here to register) if there is room in the appropriate age division, at a cost of $90 (skater) and $45 (goalie).  We will make every effort to provide a jersey to anyone registering after June 1st, but a new jersey is not guaranteed.

Update as of 6/6/18 - there is still room in the MM (6U), 10U and 12U divisions.  Registration for MM division is limited to birth years 2012 and 2013 - please contact Linda Z to register.  The Mite division is full.  You may register at no cost for the waiting list for the Mite division, however we will only be able to accommodate people from the waiting list in the event we have a cancellation from a registered player.


Entry Level Hockey Information 2018-19

 

We are looking forward to starting another season of our entry level programs! 

Intro to Hockey Ideal for ages 5 and 6 with no prior hockey experience.  Full gear is required, however we do have limited quantities of loaner gear which can be borrowed.  You must provide hockey skates, stick, and helmet with face mask.  Completion of one or more sessions of skating lessons is required before participation.  Program meets on Saturday mornings with Coach Walter Peretti.

Mini-Mites Ideal for ages 6 and 7 who have taken Intro to Hockey or have had other equivalent prior hockey experience.  Full gear is required, however we do have limited quantities of loaner gear which can be borrowed.  You must provide hockey skates, stick, and helmet with face mask. Program meets on Saturday and Sunday mornings and includes professional skating instruction with Dave Randall and hockey skills with Coach Walter Peretti.

Rec Hockey for ages 9-13. A beginner and advanced beginner program for skaters age 9-13.  Must have had at least one prior session of skating lessons and must be able to skate forward and stop independently. Full gear is required.  Program meets once per week.
